When you book a cast from Bembridge Castings you can tailor all of the elements to suit your style and preferences from the cast colour to mounting. One of the most popular ways of finishing a casting is mounting it on a plinth or board – the right one can really take your casting to the next level and turn it into a beautiful piece of artwork you’ll treasure.
As with my bespoke frames, every plinth is custom made to order by my talented partner in our own wood workshop. That means the size, type of wood, and style of the plinth can be selected to perfectly compliment your cast. If you have something special in mind you don’t see here please ask as I’m always excited to try new ideas.
Solid Oak Plinths
The wood I most commonly use for plinths is solid oak (not wood veneer). As every plinth is made to order the style of the cut is up to you. I can offer square cut or stepped edges – ask to see examples at your appointment if you have a preference.
Oak Block Boards
For large group casts I offer oak block as an alternative to framing. This gives a similar style to oak without the cost of a solid piece of the required size/thickness and reduces the risk of warping of large boards.
Painted Plinths
Painted plinths are very popular for casts mounted as love/name signs. I offer a standard colour range of pink, blue, grey or white to compliment cast colours but I can source a wide range of colours on request for a small extra charge.
